The Vegas Vibe

Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel was a gangster, and a visionary. He’s the architect of the neon fantasy we know as Las Vegas. He once made an intuitive observation about the city.

“Las Vegas turns women into men, and men into idiots.”

Siegel made that observation way back in the forties, back when Vegas was in its infancy. Yet even then, Bugsy Siegel understood the real Las Vegas. Beneath the tits, glitz, and weapons of mass distraction lies an occult truth. Las Vegas is home to a powerful, transformative energy that magnifies whatever it touches. What happens in Vegas happens on a whole new level. For some, Las Vegas is a city of hope, the emerald city at the end of the rainbow. For others, it’s the Disneyland of the damned. And it’s all because of this energy. Most people feel something when they arrive in Vegas. I call it the Vegas Vibe.

Vegas is called the city of second chances, and for good reason. There are countless examples of people who came to Vegas and reinvented themselves for the better, sometimes in spectacular fashion. Jackpots do happen in Vegas, and that’s part of its allure. But Vegas is also the crash and burn capital of the world as many headlines will attest. It’s a popular destination for folks looking to self detonate, especially in spectacular fashion. The film, Leaving Las Vegas is a perfect depiction of that. The Vegas vibe amplifies whatever you already are, so you’d better be careful about what you bring to Sin City. People with issues like addiction and anger management are much more likely to crash and burn in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas has always promoted itself as being a modern day Babylon, and it wears the label of Sin City with great pride. But the material and the carnal are only two elements of a larger reality. The very real existence of the Vegas vibe suggests that the roots of Vegas are far deeper and not superficial at all.

Las Vegas calls itself the entertainment capital of the world. I call it the magic capital of the world, but not because of Copperfield, Penn and Teller, and the others. It’s because of the vibe. The powerful energy of the Vegas vibe can be manipulated in order to bring about change, which is the very definition of magic… or rather, magick. Las Vegas is the magick capital of the world because it’s the city of transformation. People come to Vegas to do magic, whether they’re seeking a jackpot win or just seeking a change in direction.

Las Vegas is where you come to get your magic on. The Vegas vibe is the wand.
