Raven Diablo: Agent of Kali is the debut novel from author, Miko Montgomery. The action-packed, urban fantasy tells the tale of
a multi-talented, invincible warrior woman and how she came to be. While the novel’s cover art suggest a superhero in the tradition of Batman and other comic book figures, Raven Diablo is born of a more unusual and obscure source. Raven Diablo: Agent of Kali is a “wuxia” (pronounced “wooshia”) novel. Wuxia is a 2000 year old Chinese literary genre that focuses on the exploits of wandering warriors who protect the weak and fight injustice. Wuxia is particularly noteworthy because, more often than not, wuxia heroes are female, making it a literature far ahead of its time. Raven Diablo: Agent of Kali is a wuxia tale set in the modern world, specifically, present day Las Vegas.
